Burning Urination, Slow Urine Stream, Urine Analysis, Usg Normal. Cure?

I am an unmarried man who is to be married soon. I had a problem of burning urination which subsequently turned into slow urine stream. I had consulted with three urologists. They advised me some tests such as urine analysis, usg of whole abdomen etc..All the reports were normal . But the problem continues. Doctors told me not to worry and drink plenty of water. They said they do not want to go for cystoscopy before marriage. So I am scared and cannot understand what to do now.

Hello and welcome to HCM.

Thank you for your query.

Slow stream could be due to problems with your prostate, urinary bladder or even dehydration.

So the prostate has been ruled out, with the help of an ultrasound examination, although a DRE (digital rectal examination) would also help. As your doctor is right not to suggest a cystoscopy before you are married, it would help if we could check for interstitial cystoscopy with the help of a potassium sensitivity test and a urine culture examination. These are both important investigations.

The final aspect would be to check on dehydration. Instead of looking for signs of dehydration, it is best to just initiate consuming more liquids, with a minimum of 3-4 L per day.

I hope I have succeeded in providing the information you were looking for. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications. I would gladly help you.

Best wishes.
