Burning, Redness, Warm, Itching Knees. Taken Benadryl. Any Ideas?

Hi, today I noticed my knees where itching and somewhat burning/tingling. I looked down and noticed they were bright red. Moments later I noticed redness, warmth and the same sensations to my wrists and elbows too and slightly to my shoulder/axillary area. My face was also flushed and warm. I took benadryl just in case although I have no allergies and was not exposed to anything new. It lasted approx 30-45 minutes and was gone. I was just around my joints. I am a healthy 28 year old female with no other health history. Any ideas what this could be? Thank you!

Hi

thanks for writing here.

It seems you are suffering from urticaria.

It can occur due to many causes like worm infestation, food allergies, drug taken, insect bite sensitivity etc.In some cases exact cause can not be found.

Treatment is to continue with anti histaminics better than benadryl. You can take levocitrizine one to two times daily according to severity. You can apply soothing lotion like calamine which will help in reliving burning.

I hope this can solve your query.Take care.
