Bunions On Feet, Had Bunion Surgery, Using Post Surgery Socks. Healing Time?

Hi, my name is Linda. I am 65 and have bunions on both my feet. I had bunion surgery on my left foot because that bunion was the largest. I had surgery the first week in May. The end of September will be six months. I used a bone
stimulator for 20 days for fusion of the bone. Then I was given a post-surgery sock for the swelling. Could it take six months to a year for the swelling to go completely down? I can only wear loose sandals for now. Thanks for your advice.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hi and welcome to HCM
It is not unusual to having swelling even after 6 months of surgery. usually complete healing occurs till this time. If it is still painful I suggest you to consult your surgeon for examination and x-rays.
I do hope that you have found something helpful and informative and I will be glad to answer any further query.
Take care.
