Hi I fell on stairs with my right hand 1/28 breaking my distal radius and ulna bones. Was in cast or splint till 5/8 have had PT since mid Feb for my hand, fingers and wrist mobility. I still have swelling in knuckles can make half fist. Still have pain and burning like blisters in parts of hand. Dr said I may need surgery? What do you think?

Hi, you have broken distal radius and ulna of right hand. was in caste till 5-8-13. have swelling of knuckles, can make only half a fist.
The causes could be not moving the fingers while on cast, or the cast may be very tight.
For the present you should get the cast removed , and after examining and treating the hand, your doctor may decide what should be done.
Thank you.
