Breathlessness, Head Getting Numb. Normal X Ray. Treatment?
Hi!,
Am having a bit breathlessness and some time a bit tingling on my hands. I checked with Cardio and got my ECG done but it was normal. I feel that my head is getting slightly numb...No chest pain, No blur vision. Just discomfort. i got my Xray of chest done...and it was normal. I am a diabatic and had 281 sugar yesterday. I am 35 years old. What should i do.
Numbness results from irritation of peripheral nerves. There are diverse causes of numbness including metabolic conditions (such as diabetes), viral causes, Guillain Barre syndrome etc.
It is not uncommon to find diabetics presenting with numbness. Diabetes is a chronic metabolic disease that can causes peripheral neuropathy. Treatment in the case of diabetes induced peripheral neuropathy relies on effective control of blood sugar level. 281 is high enough and you should aim at levels far below that in order to effectively control the numbness. You should also add vit b complex tablets and do an electrolyte profile tests.
Best regards and hope this helps you. Dr Achuo
