Blood Test Showing Renal Function Done. On Ganaton. What Does The Report Indicate?

Hi dr, just received my blood test report showing my renal function profile as follow: sodium 140 mmol/I, potassium 4.5 mmol/l, chloride 107 mmol/l , urea 8.2 mmol/l creatinine 82 mmol/l and estimated GFR 60. I'm on ganaton for my gastric for two weeks already. is My lower est GFR due to this ganaton and pairte? I'm 76 year old and is a female. My blood test done on jan 2013 was normal for my renal function. QTVR

Ganaton is not associated with kidney disease and is not known to affect the GFR.

GFR can decrease with age.
GFR is normal if it is 90 and above so your value is below the norm as you indicated.If it is was normal in Jan 2013,it would unusual for it to deterioate in such a short space of time in most persons.

You may want to consider speaking to your doctor to find out if the cause can be determined.
