Blood blister on groin popped and bled, entire area is red, applied antibiotic. Treatment required?

I had a blood blister on my upper thigh, near my groin . I put a large band aid on it. This morning it popped and it did bleed . The entire area was red and there seemed to be a wound at one end. I covered it with a band aid with antibiotic on it. Should I go to the doctor or just watch it for a few days. The area is painful to the touch.
