Blistering Rash On Elbows, Legs, Inflammed Swollen Mark After Popping Blisters. Red, Inflammed, Hole In Skin Where Skin Was Punched And Sutured By Doctor. Opinion?
I woke up one morning and had a blistering rash on the inside of my elbows. Once the blisters broke my skin was left with an inflammed swolled poc mark. They then crusted over, but I continue to get new ones. I also have bruising down both my legs. The doctor took a skin punch of two areas and sutured them. The area where the punches are are red, inflammed and making about 1" holes in my skin?
I am so sorry to hear about what you have been experiencing.
From all the symptoms, signs and acts that have been done, the doctor is investigating what the possible cause of this rash is. It could possible result from an allergic reaction, bullous pemphigus, pemphigus vulgaris or something else. This is why he/she had to do a skin biopsy for histopathologic analysis. The site of tissue removal seems infected and you should contact the doctor for him to manage this post biopsy complication which is not an impossible occurrence after this procedure.
I hope you find this helpful. Please, feel free to ask us more question if they do come up. I also wish you get a prompt diagnosis and management for these skin eruptions. Thanks. Dr. Ditah
