Bleeding From A Cut. Can I Contract HIV Via Mouth Bite?

Hi I am a police officer and while arresting a guy I cut my forarm, a small cut the accused was bleeding badly from his mouth I do not know how I cut myself when I looked at my arm there was blood coming from the cut, I did not see any other blood around the cut so I m assuming it was mine the hiv status of the accused is unknown what is my risk of contracting the disease, there was blood all over the bed where we were fighting

HIV infection is usually transmitted through blood ,saliva.

If the person is carrier of HIV virus,chances of transmission of infection via blood is very common.

I would advice you to get a thorough clinical evaluation as well as Investigation like ELISA test has to be carried out.
