Belly Button Pierced. Starting To Leak Puss. A Bump Next To It Leaks Puss And Blood. Abscess?
i got my belly button pieced 2 months ago. it was all fine until i went in a chlorine pool and dried it out. Ive been cleaning it regularly and is staring to leak puss.about two days ago it began to bleed and today i found a bump next to the hole and the bump leaks puss and blood. Could it be an abcess and is it dangerous?
Hi, Thanks for writing to us. You seem to have developed an infection at the pierced site. No, it is not dangerous however proper treatment is required to help the lesion drain and resolve completely. Do warm water compresses of the area and apply an antibiotic cream like mupirocin, fusidic acid or soframycin twice in a day. If tender or painful, take oral painkiller like Brufen. Sometimes a course of oral antibiotic is required for faster resolution of the lesion.
Hope that helped. Take care
