Been having difficulty keeping weight on for over a year as always somewhat nauseous and quesy. Never had a bowel issue until 6 weeks ago. Began with constipation. I used exlax and it produced a smaller bowel movement, but noticed mucus with a bit of blood in the mucous. Called my GP, He suggested that I use a stronger laxative. I did, it emptied my bowels and ever since I have been passing mucus with that bit of blood and having lower abdominal pain with frequent trips to the bathroom, passing bowel movements. NO Diarrhea...EVER during this time or most of my life. I went to see my GI specialist. He ordered a CT scan of abodomen/pelvis. All normal. Then I went for endoscopy and colonoscopy. It revealed inflammation of the lower colon and rectum with slight ulceration, but the biopsies which were done twice revealed NO ulcerative Colitis or Crohn's disease. Yet I still have issues with passing mucus, pain, 4-5 smaller bowel movements in the morning, nausea, no appetite..which developed into vomiting and dry heaves...was running a fever for a week, which may be a virus...GI did stool test...all negative for infections or parasites. Blood work up revealed elevated liver enzymes, which is more than likely due to the Tylenol taken for the fever. I was taking 1000 mgs 3 x a day for the high fever which is finally gone. I have lost weight...I now weigh 87 lbs...normal weight for me is 103. No change in lower bowel problems and GI doctor wants me to do an ultrasound for my gall bladder. They are stumped and I am not well, deteriorating over six weeks. This is exasperating, to say the least.
