Arthritis, exhaustion, obesity. Wants to do gastric bypass. Safe procedure?

Hello Doctor In am a female, 5 3 ft, 56 years old. It gained weight over the years and am now 207 lbs. If am considering having a gastric bypass . Is it a safe and efficient procedure? If have discussed with my doctor who will refer me to a doctor at the hospital. The reason I m want to have the surgery is also for health reasons: arthritis , exhaustion, etc. What do you think of the gastric bypass surgery?

1. the main Adverse effect of bypass surgery is
i. Gastric bypass surgery, may cause "dumping syndrome" where stomach content move too rapidly through the small intestine, causing WEAKNESS and Weight loss [exhaustion you are already experiencing and might aggravate the same]

2. People undergoing gastric bypass surgery are at risk for nutritional deficiencies causing health problems, like deficiency of iron may cause Anemia, while deficiency of calcium may cause Osteoporosis [both will exacerbate your present conditions of arthritis and exhaustion] while obesity is a chronic, relapsing, neurochemical disease with a genetic basis, so anything told will be over simplistic and ineffective, and others complications (not mentioned) can be dangerous and life threatening

3. Moreover you will require special recommended food and medications to remain healthy and close monitoring, call your health care provider for alternate possibilities and therapy.
