Are Tongue Numbness, Ringing In Ears And Heart Palpitation Symptoms Of Anxiety?

Today while taking a nap I woke up suddenly with my heart racing and the sensation with not being able to move or open my eyes. This has happened before and I was told it was anxiety and normally I could call myself down. However this time my heart wouldn t stop racing, I couldn t get myself to calm down, and there was a loud ringing in my ear along with my tongue having a numbing sensation. Is that part of anxiety as well?

Dear
Welcome to HCM
We understand your concerns

I went through your details. Anxiety disorders are a category of mental disorders characterized by feelings of anxiety and fear, where anxiety is a worry about future events and fear is a reaction to current events. These feelings may cause physical symptoms, such as a racing heart and shakiness. In case of panic disorder, there could be more physical symptoms like breathlessness, intense head ache etc.

A nocturnal panic attack is a panic attack which occurs in the midst of your sleep, waking you up for no apparent reason. studies suggest that between 50%-70% of people with Panic Disorder will experience at least one panic attack at night. That means, in your case, nocturnal panic attack has its base on your anxiety disorder.

If you experience nocturnal panic attack again, Let go of sleep, and trying to return to sleep, for a little while. Work with the nocturnal panic attack, instead of against it. Don't fear anxiety or panic attacks, for they come again and again and disturb you. Please get expert treatment for anxiety disorder. Consult a psychologist.
