Are There Any Specific Tests To Confirm Bipolar Disorder?

I need to confirm my bipolar disorder. I have done research, taken self tests, recorded my behaviour. Ive been only been this thorough because mental illness is strong on my fathers side. How may I do this without involving my guardians, which know but are not willing to help.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello, thank you for using HCM.

I read your question and understand your concern.

The diagnoses of Bipolar disorder is clinical, done by consultation. There are no tests for it.

Mood changes from time to time, going into exremes, from exaltion of mania to depression is the main feature.

The main issue is to get it treated. So you will need anyway to see a psychiatrist which will determine if that is the diagnoses and will prescribe the needed medications.

So that is my suggestion.

Hope this is helpful.
Let me know if I can help with other questions.

Regards
