Are There Any Side Effects Of Taking Cheston Tablet Being Diabetic?
I am a 54 years old lady having diabetic. It is under control as I am taking tablets for diabetic. My weight is 62 kgs and height is 5 ft and 4 inches. Now I am suffering from cold and cough. Can I take Cheston cold tablet ? how many tablet can I take in a day ? is there any side affects ?
Cheston cold tablet is the brand name for the generic compositions of : - paracetamol - Phenylpropanolamine HCL - Cetirizine Hydrochloride
It will improve the symptoms of cold and cough. You can take it thrice daily (total 3 tablets/day).
If coughing is associated with phlegm and discomfort in the chest area, then, further evaluation by your doctor is needed to exclude bacterial infection (bronchitis, pneumonia).
If infection is confirmed, then, Cheston cold tablet is not the right choice as you might need to take: - antibiotics to fight infection - antipyretic such as acetaminophen/ibuprofen - mucolytics (carbocysteine, ambroxol, bromhexine)
Inhalation therapy together with increased consumption of fluids (water, tea) are also highly recommended.
