Are There Any Adverse Side Effects Of Mixing Caffeine And NyQuil?

So long story short I just took a little more than the recommended dose of NyQuil (45 ml instead of 30, but I m A big guy) and had drank a cup of coffee about 45 minutes before that. Are there any adverse side effects of the mixture of caffeine and NyQuil?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
NyQuil has in it a medicine for pain, a medicine to suppress coughing, and a sedating antihistamine. Caffeine is a stimulant. So you may feel a bit out of sorts with both a sedating med and a stimulant. I don't not think anything serious will happen from the combination. You may feel a little out of sorts for a while until the effects wear off. If you are a regular coffee drinker and a cup of coffee does not have a significantly stimulating effect on you, there will probably be no trouble at all. I personally wouldn't make a habit of combining those two though.
