Are Sudden Chills And Fatigue Due To Anxiety In An Elderly Person?

80 yr old mom suddenly had chills, general weakness- had to sit down. Sister gave her a few grapes (thinking maybe blood sugar) took her home and fed her some chicken soup. Took her mother-in-laws blood sugar monitor- sugar level normal range. Checked her blood pressure, normal range but heart rate a little high. Has her lying down for a rest, could be anxiety- she has been helping our younger sister who almost lost her arm to MERS July.

Hello,
Thank you for trusting HCM

The symptoms she experienced could have been due to low blood sugar (especially if she is on Anti-diabetic medication). The blood sugar must have normalized since she had grapes prior to testing.
However, given her age, cardiac problems and underlying infections like UTI needs to be ruled out. I would recommend getting an EKG, urine culture, blood culture and complete metabolic profile done.

Hope this answers your questions
Please let me know if you need further clarifications
