General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

A delayed period is considered to be due to pregnancy until the opposite is proved. Thus, your wife needs to have a urinary pregnancy test. This will clarify if the symptoms she is experiencing and the delay of the periods are due to pregnancy or not.

I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.
