Are Sports Advisable For A Person Diagnosed With Atrial Fibrillation?
I am a 67 year old male who has just been diagnosed with AFiB. I was prescribed Diltiazem 120mg and Xarelto 20mg once per day. I have always been fit and have jogged for 37 years. I like to play racquet sports also. How can I continue to be active in these pursuits when I m worried about the onset of an afib episode or a stroke. Should I continue with these activities?
Hi, At this age with auricular fibrillation active sports are not advisable. You can go light exercises like slow walking or swimming after consulting your cardiologist. Ok and take care.
