Are Rashes On Back And Itching Around Genitals Side Effects Of Sazo?

I have hla b27 positive. I have an attack of arthritis which has caused swelling, stiffness and pains in my knees, ankles and left-hand ring finger. Taking Sazo 1000 one tab at night and sazo 500 one tab at day. Thought the swelling in knees have come down but having swelling and pains in right ankle. Having rash at my right back and itching in the groin. Is it due to sazo?

As per your history you are taking SAZO right now which contains sulfasalazine used for rheumatoid arthritis cases .it is a prodrug that is metabolized to its active components,sulfapyridine and 5 aminosalicylic acid(5-ASA,mesalamine)beneficial effects are predominantly from the anti inflammatory properties of 5-ASA,which inhibits leukotriene synthesis and lipoxygenase.And adverse drug reaction is headache,rash,anorexia,dyspepsia,gastric distress,nausea,vomiting,oligospermia,dizziness ,fever,abdominal pain,stomatitis,cyanosis,pruritus,urticaria,heinz body anemia,hemolytic anemia,leukopenia,thrombocytopenia,liver function tests abnormal etc.
so the rash is due to drug side effects only ,please consult with your doctor to add a steroid in the treatment of RA(Thanks)
