Are Ovarian Cysts Caused By Hormonal Imbalance?

Hi I m 28 years old a mother for 3 children...I was diagnosed last month with paraovarian cyst 5×6 with a small mass inside with no symptoms...My Dr. told me we can wait to see if its not getting bigger before doing laproscopy...Do such cysts depend on hormonal imbalance?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Cysts can be influenced by hormonal changes/balance in the body.

Monitoring the cysts, especially if there are no symptoms is the normal course of management.
If symptoms occur then surgery can be done.

I hope this helps
