Are Multiple Nodules In The Throat A Symptom Of Cancer?

Are multiple nodules at least one large in my throat and a four month cough with little or no ability to clear my throat of phlegm signs of cancer. My husband and I had acute bronchitis during the month of September. He recovered,but only my cough has gotten somewhat better. X-rays show my lungs are clear, and I don’t respond to antibiotics. Biopsys were taken last week but I haven’t gotten the results. I’m worried.m

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

* As the nodules ( most possible reactionary lymph nodes ) have appeared after the acute infection of upper respiratory tract ; they are most likely infection related rather cancer threat.
* My recommendations at present

- Do regular gargles with salted lukewarm water added peppermint oil 3 times a day.
- Continue current medications as per direction of your doctor.
- Do not panic till the biopsy report turns out.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
