Are Lower Abdominal Pain And Raised Testicle Suggestive Of Hernia?

I have asked my primary care physician to check for a hernia but she said that she didn t think I have one... I have daily pain right of where my penis is attached in the front (where physicians usually stick their finger when they check for a hernia). It is always painful when they check and one testicle hangs slightly unevenly higher than they other. This pain has been present for years on a daily basis, and it has slowly gotten worse. This pain isn t normal and it isn t going away on its own.

Hi dear friend of HCM!
Welcome to this website. I have carefully gone through your query and I understand your concerns.
Do you have any enlarged mass in your groin or/and scrotum. Does it get worse while hard physical activity or when you cough? Usually this signs are suggestive for inguinal hernia.
There are also three other medical conditions which may have these symptoms your are describing above, and they are most probable if you have not any mass but only raised testicle and pain.
- Hydrocele, where fluids go to your scrotum and it get bigger and bigger.
- Varicocele, enlargement of venous blood vessels of testis and spermatic cord.
-Testicular or Spermatic cord infections such as orchitis or epididymitis.
I would strongly recommend to consult a surgeon or urologist to rule out any of these pathologies I mentioned above. Meanwhile be careful on lifting weights as they may worsen your condition.
I hope this answers your question.
Have a good day and best regards of me
DR ERIOL.
