Are Hives And Edema After Exposure Suggestive Of HIV Infection?

Hi, are hives and angioedema from
Big bites a week or less after possible exposure to HIV through unprotected sex a possible symptom of HIV infection? Never had hives or angioedema before this, only swelling of bitten area e.g. Hands. Sexual contact started off as protected, but the condom slipped off at some point and wasn't obvious until after the act.

Condom slipped off and sexual contract was there , call as unprotected sex .
Hives and angioedema are due to HIV or not it is very early to say some thing .
Approximately 50-70% of INFECTED individuals experience an acute syndrome following primary infection.
The acute syndrome follows infection by 3-6 WEEKS .
But in your case it is within a weeks and at bitten portion there is swelling , so hives and angioedema may be due to bite.
However , hives and andioedema are also the symptoms of HIV but as I mentioned earlier it is not necessary that it is due to HIV infection.
Approximately antibodies to HIV begin to appear within 2 weeks of infection and the period of time between initial infection and the development of detectable antibodies is rarely >3 months .
So to be absolutely sure you need to do the tests at 90 days& when it comes negative then only you can be declared HIV negative.

You need HIV tests as slipping of condoms during sex is as good as having sex unprotected. Hives /angioedema can be due to other causes too.
