Hi,
1. Since younger children have soft, short and more horizontal eustachian tube thus are more easily blocked, and due to the accumulation of fluid [swimmer's ear or otitis externa] his tube has become swollen and blocked, and because the ear helps in the maintenance of balance and equilibrium thus because of this disequilibrium it is resulting in headache and vomiting.
2. As a rule of thumb: check with a Medicine specialist to exclude
Meningitis, or get a
second opinion for the following examination:
- Examine external ear canal for wax, white flakes, or boil.
- Palpate the
mastoid process for tenderness.
- Inspect tonsils, throat, and teeth for
referred pain.
3. A recommended course of antibiotics, anti-inflammatory/analgesic tablets and
anesthetic ear drops will help overcome his symptoms.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
