Are Headaches Followed By Discomfort In The Jaw Caused By Esophageal Dilation?

These are my symptoms. Episodes of initially headache followed by bilateral jaw and epigastric discomfort. My pulse usually ranges from 120 to 150. usually vasovagal helps but not always. I was wondering if my esophagus dialtes and irritates my vagus nerves. PS I am an old nurse.

Hi,

Your symptoms may be due to esophageal dilatation which cause pain at the epigastrium. If vagus nerve irritation lead to bradycardia. Tachycardia may be due to anxiety or anemia or hyperhyroidism. Myocardial ischemia or endoscopic procedure may can cause jaw pain.

I just mentioned possible causes of above symptoms but please consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
