Are Headaches After A Stroke Common?

Hi, just got out of the hospital from a stroke, in which I was paralyzed on the whole left side, they gave me TPA infusion and within two hours all was well again. The neurologist on call now said I had a migraine and ordered Topomax for me, does this sound correct to you? By the way I never have headaches.

Hi and welcome to HCM.
Yes, such headaches may be caused by previous stroke and you should do MRi and EEG to evaluate brain function. If you didnt have migraines ever, then this is not likely to be migraine especially if there is no improvement on Topomax and painkillers.
I hope I answered your query.
Thanks for the query. Regards.
