Are Head Lice The Cause For Lump On The Neck?

I have a lump in my neck. painless and present now approx 8 weeks. Dont think any great change in size but do think sometimes more noticeable than others. Got a case of head lice from one of the children in the weeks prior to noticing this and wondering if it could be connected?

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you are wondering if head lice the cause for lump on the neck. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query lymph nodes , neck muscles , brachial plexus or swollen glands like thyroid or parathyroid . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order CT scan , throat swab test along with physical examination and may prescxribed antibiotics along with anti inflammatory . . Lice probably not the cause for lump . For now apply warm compresses and take proper rest , keep yourself hydrated .
