Are Hallucinations Common After Surgery?

My friend had e extensive back surgery about 8 days ago. She was re, released to my care yesterday. She is taking oxycontin for pain. She seems disoriented and her pa says this is normal, but at times she seems to be hallucinating. Ie her hand move as if she is eating or working at a desk, is this normal.

Hello,

Anesthesia drugs like propofol, ketamine, sufentanil, and midazolam may cause hallucinations.

Other possibilities like electrolyte imbalance or anemia or infection etc.

Please consult your treating doctor he will check for possible causes and treat you accordingly.
