Are Elevated Liver Enzymes A Cause For Concern?

Just recently had my blood drawn for insurance purposes. Everything came back perfect except my liver enzymes where elevated. Not by to much but kinda strange since I don t drink at all (not kidding) and I ve been married for 13 happy yrs. my dr has had me halt all supplements for 2 wks then retest. The supplements that I m taking haven t changed since my last yrs blood draw. I do have a cyst on both of my ovaries that are about 3mm in diameter I just found out about. Not sure if this is related. Would I benefit from taking natures sunshine liver cleanse pills

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible that the increase may be due to fatty liver, this is one of the more common causes of liver disease at the moment.

It is due to fat build up in the liver, it may stay at any early stage or progress to cause inflammation of the liver.
An ultrasound of the abdomen, taking a look at the liver can check for fat accumulation.

Treatment involves lifestyle changes to diet and activity, statins if needed.

I hope this helps
