Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My brother called me and told me he has had a blood test, which revealed that he has a problem with his prostate, that the doctor said he has nothing to worry about. I looked online and he has an elevated TSA or PSA something like that I am not on the page anymore. What could this be, does he have to worry about it. Thank you!
Hello and thanks you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein and I will try to help you as much as I can with my answer. This is not concerning, but additional tests should be done and include prostateultrasound and biopsy. Most commonly, elevated PSA is seen in prostate hyperplasia and this is benign condition, however, more serious diseases must be excluded.
I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us. Kindly regards. Wish you a good health.
