Are Diarrhea And Abdominal Cramps Symptoms Of C.difficile Infection?

I did a stool culture.. It said for c&s all was negative. But also a note.. Stated specimen shows a suppressed amount of usual gram-neg. Flora.. Im also testing for c.diff.. I have swollen lymph node in groin area and my breast had bumps everywhere.. I have semi soft to some watery stool.. Sometimes i cant go for days then .. It starts by soft to watery diarrhea. My mother in law had severe c.diff .. And went septic.. Could i most likely have c.diff? Why would i have a suppressed amount of usual gram-neg. Flora? Please help.. My husband is a bit in the same boat for lymph nodes.. (Each side of neck) and diarrhea.. Cramping.. Bloating.. He takes alot of Tylenol so drs. Never find a fever.. His eyes were baggy swollen eye lids.. He took ciprofloxacin.. And all hell broke loss... Still suffers from this today . now me as well..

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Your symptomatology suggestive of chronic bowel infection or celiac disease or Whipple's disease or malabsorption syndromes, etc. Antibiotic intake may also altered the flora, you may send stool for culture sensitivity and microscopy. Need colonoscopy and biopsy of the mucosa. If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
