Are Delayed Periods And Elevated Body Temperature Pregnancy Symptoms?

Hello. I am trying to stay pregnant. My period is late by 8 days now, home test is negative, yesterday I did beta hcg and it was negative. I do not have any symptoms of period coming soon. My temperature is slightly higher than usual for few days now, it s between 37,2 to 37,3. My question is is it possible that I am pregnant anyway? My periods are regular so this is very unusual.

Hi,

Pregnancy tests are most reliable from the first day of your missed period. I advise you to repeat the home pregnancy test on an early morning urine sample because it contains the highest concentration of beta hCG the pregnancy hormone. If your repeat test is found to be negative as well, the delayed period could be due to:
1. Emotional stress or physical illness or fever
2. Hormonal disorders like thyroid disease, high levels of Prolactin
3. Inadequate diet, change of job, etc.
4. Extreme physical activity
5. Diseases of the ovary like polycystic ovarian syndrome

These causes should be ruled out by relevant lab tests by your doctor.
