Are Breast Implants Advisable For A Cancer Patient?

Hello I have had cancer many years ago now...24 yrs of age..I am cured but would like to have breast implants as my breasts are getting smaller and saggy at the age of 48 now...its depressing me after having missed out of so much of my life due to my past illness...I have a shunt in my head (brain tumour) and the shunt wire goes down to my stomach...does not interfere with my breasts but would I still get the surgery I desperately need and would like. I live in Epworth near to Doncaster so would need to be withing travelling distance for me! Please help! Teresa Birch

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

There is no problem with breast implants as long as your brain shunt is functioning well.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Anders Mark Christensen, General Surgeon
