Are Bloating, Acid Reflux And Stomach Pain Signs Of Gastritis?

Hi, I have been having reflux, feelings of fullness and sometimes I feel I am ready to explode after I eat, stomach pain. I am able to sleep well and feel refreshed when I awake. I have had an abdominal ultrasound, barium swallow, chest x-ray, Hyda scan and endoscopy and they are all normal. I have a CT scan this week and he may do a stomach emptying test also. It has also been mentioned that I have gastritis. I am concerned that it is all psychosomatic or that I am causing it to happen. What do you think? Nancy

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible to have symptoms made worse due to psychological reasons. It may not be causing the symptoms but could definitely be making it worse.

You may want to consider a food diary to see if the symptoms are occurring in response to any particular foods. If there is a particular pattern in terms of your diet, then you may be able to eliminate any foods that are contributing to the symptoms.

Tests for celiac disease or lactose intolerance should also be considered

I hope this helps
