Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hey just got finished doing 6- BCG treatments around my anus is red little warm and blisters first thought I was getting a boil right under the bottom of spine. used witch hazel few times trying to bring it to head . a couple of Epson salt baths and now have some blisters scared to use anything now
This is quite normal and is indicative that the vaccine is working to produce antibodies in his body.
Serious long-term complications of BCG are rare. Most children develop a sore at the injection site. Once healed, the sore may leave a small scar.
In 1 to 6 weeks, a small red blister may appear where the injection was given.
After 6 to 12 weeks, the blister may turn into a small, weeping sore. The sore may take up to three months to heal and may leave a small scar. This is normal.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr AJEET SINGH, General & Family Physician
