Are Antibiotics And Paracetamol Right Medication For Fever And Cough In An Infant?

hi. my daughter is 6 month old. she had a slight fever 37.4 with runny nose and cough especially at night for 3 days maximum. but i was worried about the medicines they gave her. those are: PREDNISONE (zynison), CETIRIZINE (h-one), AZITHROMYCIN (acce-mac), SALBUTAMOL (asvent) and PARACETAMOL.

kindly need your advice if my daughter really needs to take all those medicine. please be informed as well that NO LABORATORY TESTS HAS BEEN DONE for my daughter. please. thank you

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...

As per her symptoms, your daughter should be suffering from Viral Infection. Fever, running nose & cough are common in this infection.
Your doctor has prescribed PREDNISONE, CETIRIZINE , AZITHROMYCIN , SALBUTAMOL and PARACETAMOL. All these prescriptions are okay exept prednisolone which i think is needless.
Azithromycin is necessary as there may be a secondary bacterial infection. parecetamol will reduce fever & salbutamol will reduce cough. Antiallergic medicine like cetrizine may be helpful for running nose.

she will start improving in 3 to 4 days..
