Are WBCs In Urine Indicative Of Cysts On Bladder?

Do Cysts on your bladder or ovaries cause white blood cells in urine? I went to emergency a couple weeks back because there was a tiny bit of blood in my urine, but no discomfort. Doctor told me I had white blood cells in my urine and said it was a UTI. I was prescribed 500mg of Cipro for 5 days. My symptoms remained and seemed to have gotten worse. I went to the on call doctor the following Monday and had my urine tested. He told me that there was still traces of my UTI and prescribed me 500mg of Amoxicillin for 7 days, but I still have symptoms, and there has been discomfort lately and i m finished that prescription. Am I being wrongfully diagnosed?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thank you for your query.

Would you please clarify a few things for me?
-Have you had any urinary tract infection before?
-any surgeries in the past?
-any vaginal discharge?
-any other medical issues or medications?
-do you still have blood in the urine?
-what other symptoms do you experience?
-any weight loss?

Persistent urinary infections need to be investigated. I recommend :
-a urine culture and sensitivity for the exact causative organism of the Infection and appropriate treatment.
-a cystoscopy and ultrasound of the abdomen
-blood tests (complete blood count, kidney function tests)

Based on these tests we could arrive at a proper diagnosis and initiate an appropriate treatment plan.
Ovarian cysts do not cause white cells to appear in urine.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
Wish you good health
