General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Yes, these medicines are quite effective in treating infectious diarrhea caused by both bacteria and protozoa. Continue giving these medications to your baby as prescribed. If your baby has dehydration you may give oral rehydration solutions (ORS) that can be purchased at the pharmacy or grocery store. You can also add bland diet consisting of rice cereal, bananas, or toast.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
