Are Methylprednisolone And Hydroxyzine The Right Medicine For Itchy Rashes?

I have an itchy rash caused by an allergic reaction to Bactrim. I have taken the second day dosage of Methylprednisolone 4 mg. Six tablets day 1 and 5 tablets day 2; today. I am also taking Hydroxyzine 25mg; 3 tablets per day. When should I start seeing results?

Hi

Antihistamines and Steroids are the main treatment for allergic reactions.Although the dose you are using seems to be high.Antihistamines are usually dosed once a day.

Steroids when used should be gradually tapered. You can also consider injectable antihistamines like pheniramine maleate and Steroids such as dexamethasone for better relief followed by oral dose.
