Are Lamotigine 25mg And Lexapro 20mg Intake Safe In Terms Of Chemical Reactions?

Thank you. My 16 year old son was prescribed lamotigine (25mg) yesterday. He was currently on 20 mg of lexapro. The psychiatrist prescribed us to cut the lexapro in half (10 mg) and wean off of the lexapro. After reading that lamotigine and lexapro can have a serious chemical reaction, is this safe?

Psychiatrist 's  Response
yes lexipro and lamotrigibe do have some chemical reaction and can. cause dizziness, difficulty in concentration, drowsiness and confusion. but it doesnot happen with all people who take this combination. as advised by your psychiatrist you can taper off and stop lexipro . if have any problem i would advise you to discuss with him regarding starting of some other antidepressant
