Are Clarithromycin And Prednisolone The Right Medications For Chest Infection?

My partner has been prescribed Clarithromycin and Prednisolone for a chest infection that he has had for nearly 2 weeks. My concern is that he has taken it for 2 days and there has been no improvement. He s already had a weeks worth of Amoxicilline which did nothing! He is also a paraplegic who is on a huge dose of warfare daily. If anything he seems to be getting worse and has no energy what so ever. I m becoming increasingly concerned. Should he be in hospital or give the antibiotics more time?
