Any Medication Is Required As Per Thyroid Test Report?
Hi,My Details is below. Age -30, weight 70Kg, Female. Following is my thyroid test details: T3: 133.58 T4: 10.70 TSH: 6.17 Do I need to start any medication or I can try some home remedy before going to a doctor. Please let me know. Thanks in advance.
You have subclinical hypothyroidism. Are you married and planning for a pregnancy? Do you have a goitre? Do you have high cholesterol or irregular periods or subfertility ( if married) ? If yes, then we need to closely monitor your thyroid functions and need to repeat the tests fairly soon.
Otherwise, i would say, you can wait and repeat TSH and Free T4 after 2-3 months and see in what direction your hormones are moving compared to the old reports. You may also do a test called Anti TPO ( anti Thyroid peroxidase antibody).
You have not mentioned which country you are residing in. If your country is in an iodine insufficient area, then you must restrict the amount of cabbage, radish and cauliflower etc. If your country is in iodine sufficient area and if your dietary iodine intake is good, then not to worry. Hope this helps
