Anxiety, Depression, Experiencing Pain, Numbness, Paresthesia, Spasms. Had Prolapsed Disc. Taken Sertraline. Help

hello, my name is steve. 15 years ago I had a fusion in c5/c6 due to a prolapsed disc. 3 years ago an MRI showed nerves being compressed, on both sides, in c6/c7 area. giving pain, numbness, pins and needles (parathesia) in both arms, shoulders and hands. on march 26th this year, I was the driver in the car, at a roundabout stationary, when I was hit from behind. my symptoms are now worse I am experiencing spasms, like electric shocks throughout the spine, my buttock area, legs and feet. apparently, I also have problems in the thoracic area too. I am not able to see specialists until 30th of September. I am now confined to living in bed worrying about paralysis and I was I very active person till this incident. don't know what to do and now my sertraline has been increased due to the rise in my anxiety/depression. can someone advise me on what I may have or what I need to do? as I am so depressed in bed :(

Any one in your place would have, perhaps, reacted psychologically in this manner

Sertraline will help to come out of depression, but, only partially, unless your primary disc problem is sorted out

You must not lift heave objects, do not bend forward, do not sit on floor

Till you see your specialist doctor orthopedician / neurosurgeon, you can consult a physiotherapist
