Ankle Injury, Swollen, Leakage Of Blood, Discoloration Of Ankle, Hurts To Walk. What Happened?
I recently bumped wheeled cart into an area roughly 3.5 inch above the outer ankle ball bone into the muscle it swelled and had leakage of blood inside that caused discoloration down to my ankle. I can walk it really hurts when I put pressure on it what happened? There is a lump and the pain is deep in the tissue weird.
Hi ! Possibly you have got a severe ligamentous injury in your ankle which led to accumulation of blood in the ankle, with pain. You need complete bed rest with some kind of immobilisation for your ankle. I would suggest you to visit your nearest orthopaedician for a check up, who may advise you for an x ray of ankle region to exclude any bony injury followed possibly by a plaster cast to immobilise your ankle. He may also prescribe for you some anti inflammatory drugs for pain and swelling along with a proton pump inhibitor drug. Foot elevation is very important in this case which you should follow strictly. WIshing you an early recovery.
