Ankle Injury, Swelling And Discoloration. Why Is There A Crunching Sound When There Is A Movement?
Hi, I rolled my ankle 2 days ago at training when we were doing sprints and i turned to pivot and went straight over my ankle. It crunched when it twisted. There were like 3 little crunches as I went down. We iced it, elvated it and rested for the night. Im able to walk on it recently well now and got heaps of movement back but its still swollen with no discolouration. I was just concerned about the crunching sound as i went down. I broke my hand 10weeks ago and that was a decent snap not like this crunch so just abit concerned.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vidya KR's Response
Hi, Thanks for using HCM.
Due to twisting movements, there are possibilities of ligament weakness, for which legs needs to be in rest in a correct position with support to foot. Get X-ray of foot done to rule out any hair line fracture. Analgesics helps to reduce pain swelling. Consult orthopedic surgeon for examination of foot and management.
Hope this helps you.
