About 2 years ago my husband stopped sleeping on his right side because after awhile his shoulder hurt. That being said, six months ago he started working at a tire shop lifting heavy tires, straining his shoulder every day. The pain started shortly after starting work there and it was just his elbow. It then moved to his finger joints. He hasn't worked there in a month now but he strained picking up something about a week and a half ago. This caused intense pain in his shoulder blade area. It runs to his neck/top shoulder area then it goes down his arm to his elbow. If he puts his arm down straight it feels like there is a weight pulling it down (like he's picking something up). Also, there's a pain like a knife is being twisted in his shoulder.
I took him to the doctor on Tues. They did an x-ray and nothing showed up. They gave him a Toradol shot and pills. They also gave him muscle relaxers. Nothing seems to help. He has been putting a heating pad on it several times a day and that doesn't seem to help either. He can't ride in a vehicle because of the vibrations aggravate the situation.
They did not say what the cause is. They did say that he can come back and schedule a MRI. I want to do something for him until Monday at least. Can you please help?
