Abdominal Tightness, Bloating, Indigestion, Nausea, Acid Refluz. Have Fibromyalgia

I have been having upper abdominal tightness, bloating, fullness, seems to be caused by movement.Feels like a muscle tightening right in the center of upper abdomen. Also more indigestion, nausea, and what i believe is acid re flux I experience when I try to lie down to soon after eating or even a few swallows of water. Doc has tried me on acid reducing meds which didn't change anything after 6 weeks I stopped taking them. I also have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, about 6 yrs ago. The upper abdomen symptoms are newer, about 9 mths now. The nausea and re flux symptoms are much more frequent. 51 yr

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
If I were the treating doctor for this case of indigestion bloating , I would come up with these possibilities , these includes.
1 The first possibility is of peptic ulcer disease or Hiatus hernia . Diagnosis can be confirmed by upper G I endoscopy .Try RAISING the head of your bed 4 inches with blocks. It also might help to avoid eating or drinking for 2 hours before you lie down. To help control stomach acid one should not drink alcohol ir drinks with caffeine in them or eat chocolates or spicy or greasy foods. Also take some antacid but if symptoms are very severe you amy need drugs like proton pump inhibitors.
2 The 2nd possibility may be pancreatitis as it may cause pain and indigestion and so nausea . Diagnosis can be confirmed by pancreatic enzyme tests for serum lipase and amylase.
3 Drugs for myalgia also causes pain in stomach.
In my opinion consult a physician and get his opinion .
Good luck. Dr. HET
