A Cardiologist Prescribed Metoprolol Tartrate, 25 MG Twice A Day

A cardiologist prescribed Metoprolol Tartrate, 25 MG twice a day in 2013. When I received my last prescription, the bottle stated: "Take 1 tablet by mouth every day." Previous bottles stated: "Take 1 Tablet by mouth twice daily." Also, the doctor forgot that he was switching me two years ago to Bystolic and this was discovered by the pharmacy. When I brought this to his attention, he stated that I should continue the Metropolol. I don't feel terribly confident and upon speaking to his assistant, I told her that I had read that you don't just discontinue your dosage and she stated that for the next three days, I should vary the 25 MG dosage; two one day and one the next. Frankly, I don't know what to do. If this makes sense. I just turned 70.
