4 Month Baby, Not Reacting To Clapping, Eyes Not Focusing. Born At 34 Weeks. Symptoms Of Cerebral Palsy?

I HAVE A GRANDSON WHO IS STARTING TO SHOW INDICATIONS OF CEREBRAL PALSY. DOESN'T REACT TO CLAPPING, SPASMING OF BODY, EYES DON'T SEEM TO FOCUS OR FOLLOW MOVEMENT. BABY WAS BORN AT 34 WEEKS. I DON'T WANT TO UPSET MY DAUGHTER NEEDLESSLY AND SHE IS GETTING REGULAR CARE WITH HER DOCTOR BUT I AM DEBATING WHETHER TO TALK TO HER ABOUT WHAT I HAVE OBSERVED. THE BABY IS 4 MONTHS OLD.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.
Your baby needs to be further examined and investigated. Investigations like BERA, audiometry are required to assess hearing. Was the baby admitted to NICU at birth? What problems did he have at birth? Did he cry immediately after birth?
Continue to ask further queries as required.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
